YDT471 Break-out Cable for Delphi Injectors

On-Vehicle Electrical Diagnostics for Common Rail Injectors.
Introduction
Delphi has developed a new range of diagnostic equipment to meet the challenges presented by Common Rail technology. Interrogation of the ECU can be carried out with DIAMAND and the DS100E whilst the Sealed Rail range of equipment (YDT278 and YDT500) provides all-makes mechanical diagnostics.

BTL is now pleased to announce an addition to this range: a break-out cable for Delphi CR injectors.
The Product
As Common Rail injectors are controlled electronically, a full diagnostic check must include testing of the electrical connections to these injectors. Electrical faults are a common cause of problems with Common Rail injectors but until now it has not been possible to carry out on-vehicle electrical diagnostics.
Delphi’s new CR injector break-out cable (YDT471) will enable users to carry out the following actions on all Delphi CR injectors:
·  Identify the root cause of electrical faults (ECU, harness or   connector) on-vehicle
·  Check the continuity and resistance of the vehicle harness with no   risk to the connectors
·  Check the signal to the injector using an oscilloscope
·  Attach the amp clamp to the harness with no risk of damage
The fact that this cable provides on-vehicle diagnostics means that it is now possible to pin-point faults at an early stage and therefore the needless removal and refitting of injectors will be avoided. This will save time and money for workshops and garages alike.

The cable can also be used during the repair of injectors to ensure that the electrical connections are functioning correctly.
